On day two of the Science of Leadership conference, Dr Vanessa Pozzali and Dr Tarek Jomaa, co-founders of Synthosys, joined an international panel on the future of AI in HR and leadership.

Both challenged the idea that more data automatically leads to better decisions. Tarek shared a personal story from his motorsport career: a critical race at Imola was lost when a sensor failure misled the team, proving that blind reliance on technology can be catastrophic.

Vanessa connected this lesson directly to today’s organisations: when leaders hand over judgment to AI without reflection, they risk losing sight of the human dynamics that drive culture, trust, and effectiveness.

Takeaway: AI is a powerful ally, but leadership fails when technology replaces human judgement. The future belongs to leaders who balance data with reflection, context, and humanity.
