4C Certification: Key Questions Answered

Who is this for

This certification is designed for consultants, service providers, coaches, and professionals working across teams, culture, transformation, leadership, and organisational development. It is also relevant for people leaders such as HR Directors, Chief People Officers, Heads of Culture, and Heads of Transformation who want to bring a stronger diagnostic approach into their work.

Who leads the client work

Engagements you originate are led by you. Synthosys provisions 4C and supports as agreed. Direct enquiries to Synthosys are led by us, with the option to involve a local associate where it benefits the client.

Does 4C only work in certain sectors or organisation sizes

No. The 4C Diagnostic is sector agnostic and can be used across different team and organisation sizes. It is designed to help surface patterns in culture, team dynamics, and leadership across a wide range of contexts.

Where can I use the 4C Diagnostic

Globally. There is no geographic exclusivity by default. We coordinate to avoid conflicts and protect relationships.

Do I certify others

No. Your certification covers using 4C in your own client work. Training and certifying others remains with Synthosys.

How is data handled

We follow shared standards, anonymised outputs, and respectful data handling. Synthosys hosts the diagnostic and generates the full report; you lead the client work.

How much time does the certification require

Around 9 to 12 hours in total, spread across short workshops and an applied case. It’s designed to fit alongside your existing client work.

Do I have to use your method

No. You can use 4C within your own frameworks. Our IDEAL method and materials are available if helpful.

How does pricing work

The certification has a fixed cost. Once certified, your rate for using the 4C Diagnostic depends on factors such as team or organisation size, location, and scope. As a certified associate, you will always receive preferential pricing to help you stay competitive in your market.
