Driving Leadership: Synthosys’ October Highlights in Armenia

October was an incredible month for Synthosys as we ventured beyond our usual client work to participate in two groundbreaking conferences in Armenia.
These events allowed us to showcase our expertise in leadership, innovation, and the transformative potential of AI in HR, all while contributing to thought-provoking discussions with some of the brightest minds in the field.
The first event we attended was the Annual Regional Leadership Conference, titled “The Science of Leadership”, organised by Cascade People & Business. This event brought together exceptional speakers who explored the evolving dynamics of leadership in today’s rapidly changing world. Among the notable speakers were Mohamed Samir, whose session “AI in Coaching: Ally or Enemy?” challenged us to rethink the role of AI in coaching and personal development. With over 20 years of expertise, Dr Samir ignited a debate about how AI can either revolutionise or replace traditional coaching practices. His passion for learning and development left the audience inspired to explore new possibilities at the intersection of AI and coaching. Ahmed Adel delivered a keynote speech, “The Human Advantage in the AI Times,” and an engaging session titled “Leading in the Age of AI: Mastering Modern Leadership.” Ahmed’s energy and deep insights highlighted how AI can amplify human skills, sparking a fresh perspective on AI-human collaboration and the unique qualities that make us irreplaceably human. Nadia Ait captivated the audience with her keynote on non-verbal intelligence, urging us to recognise the unspoken messages that shape human behaviour in a world increasingly dominated by AI. Lastly, Dr Igor Khalatian shared groundbreaking insights on how AI is transforming human connection in areas such as dating and beauty, showcasing how technology can enhance human interactions and help us discover the best version of ourselves.
Synthosys was proud to contribute to this dynamic line-up.
Dr Tarek Jomaa presented a session that combined his passion for motorsports with leadership development. Using tyre pressure as a metaphor, Tarek explained how team performance can be optimised under pressure by finding the perfect balance. Leaders, he emphasised, must be like skilled drivers—ensuring their teams are neither overloaded nor underutilised while maintaining agility, resilience, and high-quality work even under stressful conditions. Tarek’s session resonated with leaders looking to foster sustainable performance in their organisations.

In my session, I explored the cognitive impact of AI on leadership, focusing on four critical areas: attention, creativity, decision-making, and social cognition. Drawing from predictive studies in social media and available AI technologies, I examined how AI can shape leadership cognition, both positively and negatively. My key message was clear: leaders must remain aware of how they use AI and what they delegate to it, striking a balance between leveraging technology and preserving the essential human touch. By doing so, we can create workplaces where human cognition thrives alongside AI’s advancements.

The second event was the prestigious WCIT 2024, where Tarek and I participated in a compelling panel discussion titled “AI Revolution in HR: Redefining Workforce Strategies and Organisational Success.” Moderated by Arpi Karapetyan, the session brought together an extraordinary group of speakers, including Tarek Jomaa, Ahmed Adel, Mohamed Samir, and myself.

This panel focused on the transformative role of AI in HR, exploring how it is reshaping recruitment, talent management, decision-making, and organisational strategies. At Synthosys, we highlighted the use of our proprietary tools, such as the ROGUE Coaching Model and the 4C Culture Model, to guide organisations in integrating AI without losing the human element. The discussion emphasised AI’s potential to enhance HR processes while stressing the importance of ethical implementation and maintaining workforce resilience. This dynamic exchange of ideas left us inspired to continue driving innovation in the HR field.
A special thank you to Arpi Karapetyan, who not only invited us to these incredible conferences but also introduced us to the beauty of Armenia. With her wealth of experience as an internationally certified HR professional, speaker, and coach, Arpi’s passion for growth and transformation was truly inspiring. Her warmth and guidance made our journey unforgettable, and we are grateful to have gained not just a mentor but a friend along the way.
